Hello! I’m Dwayne Dominick, an illustrator and educator currently based in Tokyo, Japan. I’m originally from DeRidder, Louisiana, and began my creative career in Atlanta, where I started working professionally as an illustrator in 2016 and collaborated with artists and international companies along the way. In 2022, I made the bold decision to move to Japan without having visited before, driven by my desire to challenge myself, grow creatively, and experience life in a new cultural environment. Alongside continuing my work as an illustrator, I began teaching English to children, which introduced me to the Japanese education system and allowed me to connect with students from many different backgrounds. Working with children in Japan has deepened my appreciation for patience, communication, and creating a safe, encouraging space where students feel comfortable expressing themselves. As both an artist and a teacher, I believe creativity plays an important role in learning, confidence, and personal growth. Through my experiences living abroad, teaching, and working in the creative field, I aim to support children not only in learning English, but also in building curiosity about the world and confidence in who they are

はじめまして。ドウェイン・ドミニックと申します。現在は東京都を拠点に、イラストレーターおよび英語教育に携わる教育者として活動しております。アメリカ・ルイジアナ州デリダー出身で、2016年よりアトランタにてイラストレーターとしてのキャリアを開始し、これまでにアーティストや海外企業とのプロジェクトに多数参加してまいりました。 2022年には、新たな環境での成長と国際的な視野の拡大を目指し、日本へ移住いたしました。来日後は創作活動を継続する傍ら、子ども向け英語教育にも従事し、日本の教育現場における指導経験を積んでおります。 教育活動を通して、子ども一人ひとりの個性を尊重した関わり方や、安心して自己表現ができる学習環境の重要性を強く実感するようになりました。また、創造性は言語習得のみならず、自己肯定感や主体性を育む上でも大きな役割を果たすものと考えております。 これまでの海外経験および教育・創作分野で培った知見を生かし、英語教育を通じて子どもたちの可能性を広げ、国際社会に向けた第一歩を支援していくことを目標としております。
